4 Benefits of using social media in the classroom video
While there are many benefits to using social media in the classroom, this video, by Jessica Bizz from YouTube shares that instructors may actually be harming their students or keeping them from progressing by banning a platform they use outside the classroom to communicate (Bizz, 2017). She also describes the benefits to instructors when using social media in their profession including collaborating across geographic boundaries, connecting with other like-minded instructors, and gaining new, cutting-edge ideas for implementation into the classroom of the future (Bizz, 2017). It is our hope in this self-guided training that the team member will be empowered to “stretch their social media muscle” and expand their horizons as educators (Bizz, 2017).
