3. Smoking
The primary reason youth start smoking is because of peer pressure.
Nicotine: The addictive drug found in tobacco.
Carcinogens: Cancer causing substances in tobacco.

4. Smoking
Carbon monoxide is found in cigarette smoke.
Smokeless Tobacco: Tobacco sniffed or chewed.

5. Negative Effects
Raises blood pressure by causing vessels to constrict. Your heart rate also increases simultaneously.
Increases risk of cancer:
Liver
Lung
Kidney
Oral
Throat

6. Negative Effects Bronchitis: inflammation of the bronchioles
Emphysema: destruction of the alveoli
Pneumonia: Inflammation of the lungs
Inefficient breathing by constricting the bronchioles
Wrinkles
Yellow Skin
Heart Disease
Asthma

7. Negative Effects
Nicotine Addiction: relying on the drug in tobacco for feelings of pleasure and/or alertness.
Nicotine can cause a psychological and physical dependence.
Nicotine withdrawal can occur even 30 minutes after the last cigarette.

8. COPD
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: An inability to fully fill your lungs with air. It is permanent and 90 percent of all cases are caused by smoking.

13. Smokeless Tobacco Third-Hand Smoke
A.K.A. Chew: introduces tar and other unhealthy juices into the mouth
Leukoplakia: thick, white, leather appearing spots on the inside of the mouth that can develop into cancer cells

14. Smoking and Pregnancy Cuts off oxygen supply to the fetus
Can result in low birth weight, down syndrome, cerebral palsy,other genetic defects, or death.
Also is a leading risk factor of SIDS.
