Tables on urban areas - Procedure for ad hoc data requests - dissemination of census data.

3 Data collection from 2001 censuses
Table templates were prepared in excel for the Table Programme Templates and instructions were sent to the NSIs in the end of August Two new tables were added on urban areas and sent to the NSIs in November Deadline is the end of June 2003

4 Statistics on urban areas from 2001 censuses
Data on urban areas will be produced and delivered to Eurostat according to tables 38 and 39 of the Table Programme. These tables have become, in effect, tables 41 and 42 of the Table Programme.

Concept of urban area is presented in the WP document E3/SD/11b/92 It builds on the concept of locality in the UNECE census recommendations Minimum size of an urban area is 2000 inhabitants Big localities with several population centres can be divided into several urban areas

16 Procedure for ad hoc data requests
Eurostat will propose that countries would create an Eurostat census file in ASCII format using standard person records, which would contain the variables of the Table Programme.

17 Dissemination of census data
Data will be checked and validated as soon as it is received - Data will be transferred to NewCronos on country/table basis - No big publication - A set of Statistics in Focuses on specific themes and groups of countries ( ) - CD-ROM when all the data will be received
