Identify what France, Spain and England owned before and after the French and Indian War. Understand what lands were given to France, Spain and England in the Treaty of Paris 1763. Study the diagram on the Mercantilism Political Cartoon Worksheet. What was the Proclamation of 1763 and its purpose? How did the French and Indian War affect the economic relationship between Britain and the colonies?

4 Explain how the relationship between the 13 Colonies and Britain changed after the French and Indian War. The relationship between the 13 Colonies and Britain changed after the French and Indian war because Britain began taxing the colonies. According to the source, Britain was in debt from the French and Indian War. King George III and Parliament decided to tax the colonies to pay off the war debt. The colonies did not like this because they felt they should have a voice in Britain’s government if Britain was going to tax them. This conflict would eventually lead to the beginnings of the American Revolution.
