Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration Why enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration (BSHCA) program? You already have a career in the health care field but you want more. You want to enter the management track. Or maybe you want to manage a medical group or office. A bachelor’s degree in health care administration can prepare you for the career advancement you are looking for. In this program, graduates will Identify professional leadership skills Develop knowledge of effective health care administration Analyze behavioral, social, and cultural trends that influence management in health care settings. Is the program accredited? The BSHCA program has been approved by the State of Arizona and the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), Pima Medical Institute’s institutional accrediting agency. What are the requirements to enroll in the program? Applicants must have completed 64 credits in a health science or health care administration program. Additional transfer credit may be accepted as determined on an individual basis by the Program Director and the Online Education Director. If an applicant does not have the required qualifying semester credits, Pima Medical Institute has additional online courses that may assist in qualifying for the program. How long is the program? The BSHCA program is a 15-month program, but individual completion time may vary depending on individual progress and the number of credits transferred.   What courses will I take? Students will take courses in Patient Information Management, Managing Emergency Response Operations, Marketing, Leadership in Health Care Administration and more. Full program outline. What are the class sizes? Individual class size will never exceed 25 students. This allows each student to receive personalized attention from the instructor of the course. Do I have to be online at any particular time? Each course has specific due dates for papers, quizzes, and assignments, but you have the flexibility to work when it’s convenient for you. Are there externships required? There are no clinicals or externships in the BSHCA program, however, students will be required to relate work-related experiences to the program. Continue

Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration How much does the program cost? Tuition for the program is set at $330 per credit. Is financial aid available? Financial aid is available for those who qualify, and our financial aid representatives are available to help you navigate the process of financing your education. Will I have a chance to experience the online classroom before classes begin? Every student will complete an online orientation before they begin a program. The orientation is set up to allow students to practice using all of the tools they’ll use in an actual class. It also helps ensure that students have the right computer and software. What types of jobs can I get from this degree? The BSHCA degree prepares graduates for management and leadership roles in the field of health care administration. Do you offer job placement assistance? All graduates from Pima Medical Institute have access to job placement assistance. What is the job outlook? U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment of medical and health service managers to grow “faster than average” through 2020.
