Motivation instantly increases due to the nature of the tasks being valued
All students now have starting points, more comfortable with ‘blind allies’
This spills over into other areas of mathematics – they trust me more and are much more attentive

They benefitted greatly from observing others (this has since impacted on our QA systems)
The need to modify the tasks before the lesson and think about the level of support every second
