Now the children have a spelling for each sound, we can look at alternative spellings using our best fit knowledge. So what is best fit?

Let’s Practise quiz, quiz swap relay race
This is reading practise. The children are all given a word and have to go around the room reading their word, putting it in a sentence and then swapping. This helps the children see the best fit spelling in the words. This is writing practise. The children will race in a team to finish the words using their knowledge of best fit.
