In order for one type of rock to turn into another in takes hundreds of thousands of years…
Yet, some of the processes take place over a shorter period of time….
During your journey see if you can determine which processes take longer than others and which processes happen in a shorter period of time. (Uniformatarian and Catastrophic)
Determine which type of rock you think you were during each step.

Igneous –
Do you think that rock cooled and solidified from lava on Earth’s surface would look different from those that cooled and solidified from magma inside the Earth?
Sedimentary –
How are layers in a sedimentary rock like rings in a tree? How are they different?
Metamorphic-
Write an analogy on how the process of baking cookies can be compared to sediments becoming sedimentary then metamorphic rock. Equate each ingredient and step of a baking recipe to the processes and products in the rock cycle.
