3 Rock Cycle Simulation Lab Data Analysis
Review journey logs and add information on next slide. Review analysis questions

4 Rock Cycle In order for one type of rock to turn into another in takes hundreds of thousands of years… Yet, some of the processes take place over a shorter period of time…. During your journey see if you can determine which processes take longer than others and which processes happen in a shorter period of time. (Uniformatarian and Catastrophic) Determine which type of rock you think you were during each step.

5 Chose One or more Question(s) to Answer (on your own then as a table)
Igneous – Do you think that rock cooled and solidified from lava on Earth’s surface would look different from those that cooled and solidified from magma inside the Earth? Sedimentary – How are layers in a sedimentary rock like rings in a tree? How are they different? Metamorphic- Write an analogy on how the process of baking cookies can be compared to sediments becoming sedimentary then metamorphic rock. Equate each ingredient and step of a baking recipe to the processes and products in the rock cycle.

6 How can the rock cycle and the concept of change relate to YOUR life?
Closing Reflection In the rock cycle we see that one rock can change into another type of rock, then change again into another, only to possibly change back to the same type of rock it originally started as…with this in mind… How can the rock cycle and the concept of change relate to YOUR life?
