Workshop: HIV elimination is now a reality for gay men: What is working and how do we replicate our successes for all?
Significant decreases in new HIV diagnoses amongst gay men in Sydney, London and New York.
Key Factors:
Increased rates of testing.
Co-ordinated and promoted testing campaigns.
Earlier treatment access.
Availability of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
Stakeholder engagement, including clinics and communities.
Political leadership at all levels was also highlighted.

7. HIV outbreaks amongst People who Inject Drugs (PWID)
Poster Exhibition Reference: Des Jarlais et al. Complacency is the new problem: Comparative analysis of recent outbreaks of HIV among persons who inject drugs in Europe and North America.
Combination Prevention has worked: needle exchange programmes, opioid substitution therapy, and HIV treatment.
HIV outbreaks in Athens, Bucharest, Dublin, Glasgow, Luxembourg, Tel Aviv, Saskatchewan (Canada), and Scott County (Indiana, USA).
Conclusions: “Complacency for HIV prevention is emerging as an important threat to the success of combined HIV prevention for PWID.”
