1. Linking Verbs
Linking Verbs - CONNECT the subject of the sentence to a word in the predicate.
Subject Complement – The word in the predicate being linked to the subject. This word COMPLETES the subject. It either identifies or describes the subject.
Predicate Nominative/Predicate Noun – A noun in the predicate that renames the subject
Predicate Adjective – An adjective in the predicate that describes the subject.
