5 Behavior Policy Clip Chart- All students will have the opportunity to move up. This chart is meant to reinforce positive behavior. ( Calendar in their folder) Brag Tags- Students will have a chance to earn individual tags and wear their necklaces. They will come home at the end of the year. Class Bucket- Filling each other’s buckets helps fill our class buckets. This incentive is a full class effort. The students made the rules and have agreed on how we need to behave and treat each other to earn rewards and/or have the logical consequences that follow inappropriate behavior.

6 Birthdays, Friends List, and Mystery Readers
All first grade classrooms will be celebrating birthdays with special non-food activities this year. In our classroom, the birthday child will receive special privileges for the day. If you would like to visit on your child’s birthday to read a book or implement an activity, please let me know in advance. Friends List: Fill out and return as soon as possible. I would like to send home by end of September. Mystery Readers: Please come in and read to us. Fill out and return so I can add you to our plans during our Fun Fridays.

7 Homework Spelling and reading (Book Fish) sent home on Monday and are due on Friday. Math will be sent home daily, Monday-Thursday. Our goal is to make the homework authentic to our classroom learning. The most important thing to remember, it should not take more than 30 minutes. 

8 Book Fish Reading every night is ESSENTIAL in First Grade.  Although I do not require each child to complete a reading log, it is important that your child is engaged in reading for at least 10-15 minutes each night. Please be sure to have your child fill out all of the information and cut out the fish before returning it to school.

9 Raz Kids All students should use this tool often.
Use these books as your child’s reading for the night. Website: raz-kids.com Everyday Math Website: connected.mcgraw-hill.com

10 Communication Red Folders
Please go through everyday and remove all papers from the Leave at Home side. Look at and initial the Clip Chart calendar. Any notes need to be placed in this folder. Lunch money, snack money, or any other money that comes to school. Please place it in an envelope with you child’s name on it. Also, label what it is for. Leave at Home Return To School
