A-G Subject Requirements Grades must be C’s or better a. History/Social Science (including 1 year of U. S. History, 2 Years American Government, World History) b English Years c. Mathematics (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2) 3 Years (UC recommends 4 years; CSU recommends math thru senior year) d. Laboratory Science (1 biological & 1 physical) 2 Years (UC recommends 3 years) e. 19 UC Prompts Guidelines You will have 8 questions. You must respond to 4 out of 8. Each response is limited to 350 words each All questions are weighted the same The questions you choose to answer is entirely up to you 

20 Essay Prompts Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement? What have you done to make your school or your community a better place? What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you developed and demonstrated that talent over time?  

21 The Private School Process
Apply through the Common App Fees and Requirements vary Private Schools may require letters of recommendation or interviews depending on the school. Be sure to do your research and find out what the private school of your choice expects applicants to complete to be eligible for admission.

22 After you apply… Check your email regularly
Notify schools of any changes Await Decisions Submit Official Transcript If the applicant changes his or her phone number, , or mailing address then update your application. If the applicant’s academic record change ( meaning that the applicant adds or drops a course or fails to earn a C or better in a course) then you must notify the school you will be attending.
