1 8th Grade Scheduling School Year

2 Attendance, Setting & Keeping a Routine
School performance improves when school is attended regularly Absent from school: Be responsible getting missed work from teachers or peers Complete and turn in missed work as soon as possible Use your assignment book daily to record homework, tests, projects, and any other important information Check your Aeries account for updates on grades and missing assignments Check Edlio, Edmodo, Planbook, etc., for classwork or homework information

3 Time Management Study for a test a few days in advance – do not leave to the night before the test Take breaks in between working on homework assignments – this will help you accomplish more work Break up long term assignments (projects, essays, multi-step assignments) into chunks – do not leave it all to the day before it is due Take time to organize and prioritize your work – make a to-do list or check off assignments as you have completed them Take time to organize yourself and your school materials – keeping organized will save you time each day

A = 4 B = 3 C = 2 D = 1 F = 0 Find your GPA by adding up the total value of all your grades and dividing by the number of classes Language Arts = A = 4 Math = B = 3 Science = B = total points / 6 classes = 3.16 GPA Social Studies = C = 2 Elective = A = 4 PE = B = 3
