17 Beauty and the Beast Info First and Second nights– Monologue auditions: Students will come prepared with a one- minute memorized monologue. They will perform individually in front of Mrs. DeLeon and other production adults as well as the group of students they are auditioning with. They are expected to show emotional intent and act out the monologue. This will be their quick chance to show the director what they can do as actors.

18 Beauty and the Beast Info Third Night– Music Auditions: Students will be scheduled to come in during the evening for a specified amount of time. Students should be familiar with the music that will be posted online from the show. They are allowed to use their music. Students will sing in small groups, and then they will be singled out of the group to sing alone for parts of the song.

19 Beauty and the Beast Info Fourth Night– Dance Auditions: Again, students will be scheduled to come in during the evening for a specified amount of time. In a small group, they will be taught some basic dance steps by the choreographer and then perform for the choreographer and director. We are looking for ability to keep rhythm, follow directions and stay together with the other students. Students will not be cut necessarily if they have had little training in this area. Those with the strongest skills will have first consideration for parts that require more dancing.

20 Beauty and the Beast Info – Call Backs: We will call back students who we would like to hear more from as we narrow down our choices For the Play: We will put in as many students as we possibly can. If we go over 100 students who are auditioning, we will be forced to cut kids. We havent done that for several years, so hopefully we wont have to.
