Shapes of Distribution:
Uniform – the frequency of each class is relatively the same. (1 out 10 chance)
Symmetrical – the data lies evenly on both sides of the distribution. (50% and 50%)
Skewed to the Right – the majority of the data falls on the left of the distribution.
Skewed to the Left – the majority of the data falls on the right of the distribution.

Definitions:
Time-series – a picture of how data changes over time. ($10 in 2009, $15 in 2010, etc.)
Cross-sectional study – a picture of the data at a given moment of time. (10 students with Average GPA 3.5)
Outlier – a data value that falls outside the normal shape of the graph. (GPA of 2.0 out of the average GPA of 3.9)
