Hacer in time (Preterite) is used to tell/ask how long ago an action was performed.
There are 2 ways to express the answers:
(Option 1)- Hace+period of time+que+subject pronoun+conjugated verb in the Preterite.
(Option 2)- Subject Pronoun+Conjugated verb in the Preterite+Hace+period of time
**Option 2 does NOT have “que” in its formula!**

Ejemplos:
Option 1:
Ten days ago, I painted.
-Hace diez dias que yo pinté.
Seven weeks ago, you (fam.) studied.
-Hace siete semanas que tú estudiaste.
Three months ago, you all shaved your moustaches.
-Hace tres meses que Uds. se afeitaron los bigotes.

Did you (fam) swim 2 months ago?
- ¿Hace dos meses que tú nadaste?
