2. INSECT COLLECTION
Collecting, preparing and identifying insects are fundamental and essential skills for entomology.
To learn and develop these skills, you will prepare and submit an insect collection by the end of this course.
20% of your grade will depend on your collection.

3. INSECT COLLECTION Total Possible Points: 60 POINTS
Minimum requirement of the collection
Diversity: 10 insect orders: (10 points)
No. of specimens: 38 species + 2 immature stage
-half point for every specimens (20 points)

4. INSECT COLLECTION
Presentation: Organization, Labelling and Mounting Technique (30 points)
Each specimens must be correctly and neatly labeled to be worth credit.
Badly damaged specimens will not count.
Mounting and labeling skills will be covered in lab.
Neatness is important! Students are expected to identify up to family level except for major/common pests (up to genus/species).

Collection that represent an outstanding diversity which means more than 10 orders and 40 species but on one condition, they must be accurately identified.
