Reported Cases 17,942 (05 Dec = 17,145; up by 797) Reported Deaths 6,388 (05 Dec = 6,070; up by 318) CFR = ~36% (05 Dec = 35%) Case incidence Slightly increasing in Guinea 103 confirmed and probable cases reported in the week to 7 December Study/Declining in Liberia 29 new confirmed cases in the 3 days to 3 December Increasing in Sierra Leone (Now highest # of Cases Reported) 397 new confirmed cases in the week to 7 December The UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) targets of isolating and treating 100% of EVD cases and burying 100% of EVD related deaths safely by January 1, 2015, continue to progress in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone All 3 countries now have sufficient capacity at a national level to meet both targets, though local variations means capacity is still insufficient to stop transmission in some areas Every district that has reported a case of EVD in the three intense-transmission countries has access to a laboratory within 24 hours from sample collection. All three countries report that more than 80% of registered contacts associated with known cases of EVD are being traced, although contact tracing is still a challenge in areas of intense transmission and in areas of community resistance As at 28 November, WHO had received US$171.5 million, with a further $26 million pledged Source: WHO/CDC/SOS International Source: WHO/CDC/SOS International
