2 September 22: “My Life as a Bat” Vocabulary and Pre-reading Activity
IN p. 22 Textbook p. 77 Define the four words from the top of p. 77 THEN: Answer questions 1-4 under Critical Vocabulary. Restate the questions in the form of answers! IN p. 23 TB p Answer the following questions BEFORE you read Look at the title of the story on p. 71. Why do you think the author used this title? Look at the five different headings in the story. Which heading is the most intriguing to you? Explain. What does déjà vu mean?

Irony ( when something happens and is the opposite of what you would expect) Sensory Images (images that appeal to your senses!)
