3 The way that the objects, texture, color, and space are placed so that the design seems stable.
For example, in symmetrical balance, the objects on one side of an artwork are similar to those on the other side. balance

4 movement The path a viewer’s eye takes the work of art. This can be accomplished through color, shape, line or edges.

5 Harmony/unity Creates a sense of completeness or whole

6 Repeating of an object or symbol throughout an artwork

7 emphasis The part of the design that catches the viewers attention (usually accomplished through contrast)

8 proportion The feeling of unity when all parts of the design relate well with each other (such as number, sizes, amounts, etc.)

9 The use of several elements of design to hold the viewer’s attention and guide the viewer’s eye though and around the artwork. variety

10 Created when one or more elements are used repeatedly to create the feeling of organized movement
