1 Module 19: Lesson 1 Central Angles & Inscribed Angles
Vocabulary (p. 1005) A chord is a line segment where both endpoints lie on a circle. A Central Angle is an angle with measure less than 180° and whose vertex is the center of a circle. An Inscribed Angle is an angle whose vertex lies on a circle and the sides of the angle are chords of the circle.

2 Vocabulary (p. 1006) A minor arc is an arc whose points are on or in the interior of a central angle. A major arc is an arc whose points are on or in the exterior of the central angle. A semicircle is an arc whose endpoints are the endpoints of a diameter.

3 Arc Addition Postulate
The measure of an arc formed by 2 adjacent arcs is the sum of the measures of the 2 arcs. B D A C See Example 1 (A and B) page 1007

4 Inscribed Angle Theorem
The measure of an inscribed angle is ½ the measure of the intercepted arc. D A C B See Example 2 (A and B) page 1009

5 Homework pages 1012-1016 #’s 1-25 (odds)
