2 What rights are given to a suspect when being arrested and why are they important?
Miranda Rights A specific set of rights given to a person when arrested, that protect them under the law. Searches and Seizures Under the fourth amendment police have to justify a search or an arrest. A warrant is not needed if the law is being broken in the presence of the police. Exclusionary rule Under the exclusionary rule, any evidence obtained illegally can not be used in federal court.

3 What protects a person's rights?
HUMAN RIGHTS - The heart of the united states political system and enables citizens and noncitizens to worship as they wish. AMENDMENTS - Over the years the supreme court interpreted the word liberty in the amendments to include all freedoms the first amendment guarantees BILL OF RIGHTS - In particular, stands as a written guarantee that government can’t abuse the rights of individuals

4 How does the Judicial Branch have the power to change laws through judicial review?
courts with judicial review power many annul the laws and rules of the state when it finds them incompatible with a higher norm primary legislation is a perfect example for the provisions of the constitution or international law judges constitute a critical force for interpretation and implementation of a constitution

5 What are the tiers of the federal court system and what jurisdiction does each have?
trial courts- the first time a case is heard appellate courts- review case if decision is appealed high/supreme court- final decision in the case Original Jurisdiction- heard 1st in the supreme court involves leaders from other countries 2 states involved the federal government is one of the parties constitution is being questioned

6 What is the job of the judicial branch of the government?
The judicial branches job is to explain the laws of this country under the constitution. They must decide if laws are constitutional.
