2. What is Class Evidence?
Class evidence is a group of objects or persons with characteristic physical evidence common to it
Class evidence can be linked to a specific group
May be shown to be like or consistent with questioned source, although not uniquely identifiable with that source
Measurable features of an item that indicate a restricted group source based on design factors determined prior to manufacture

3. What is individual evidence?
Individual characteristics can be identified as having originated with a particular person or source
Individual evidence can only be linked to one person
Marks on an object produced by the random imperfections or irregularities on the surfaces of the tools used to manufacture the object
Produced incidental to the manufacturing process and typically seen at microscopic level
