3 Compacting This year, the fourth grade team will be compacting for math in order to differentiate math instruction and meet the needs of all students with their math skills. Each nine weeks your child will take a pre-test on unit standards based on the Cobb County math framework. The fourth grade teachers will evaluate the pre-test and place your child according to his/her needs. This way, we can meet your child where they are and ensure that they are getting maximized, targeted instruction. We look forward to working with your children and helping them be successful with math. .

8 What is Mrs. Alley’s “WHY?”
“People don’t buy what you do, they buy WHY you do it.” –Simon Sinek  What is Mrs. Alley’s “WHY?” There is no better reward than helping a student finally reach clarity. Witnessing a student grasp a concept for the first time brings me so much joy – that’s when I feel successful. I   help my students understand academic curriculum and find ways to apply it practically in real-world situations. I relish finding ways to encourage them to reach further than they’d ever thought possible. Ultimately, I want students to push past what is comfortable in the classroom, giving them the confidence to achieve in other areas of life. I teach to help children realize just how very capable they are!

9 What is your WHY?
