A pronoun is a word that replaces a noun or another pronoun. The two you will be learning this week are ego (I) and tu (you).
The pronouns ego and tu have no gender, but do have case and number.
A possessive adjective is an adjective that shows ownership. The two you will be learning are meus/noster (mine/our) and tuus/vester (your).
Possessive adjectives have case, number and gender which should obviously agree with whatever noun they’re modifying.
If you want to show possession, use a possessive adjective and not a genitive personal pronoun e.g. “my friend” is meus amicus, not amicus mei.
The only time you use the genitive personal pronoun is when you want to show partitive e.g. “a part of me” is “pars mei” while “my part” would be “mea pars”
