5 Developmentally Appropriate Practices (Activities) DAP/DAA
Address the developmental levels among learners in a class or age group of students or participants. Provide activities that guarantee successful experiences for all students or participants and provide individual challenges for the athletically gifted, the below average, as well as the average learner. To promote better percentages: Eliminate elimination Use small sided games Wait time is your enemy (standing around) When students are provided with simply “time on task” it may actually be a counter- productive period of time and/or activity.

13 OTL Opportunities to Learn
Defined as each time a student performs a skill or interacts with a concept that you are trying to teach. Examples: bump a volleyball, position themselves in zone, hit a golf ball Why is this more accurate than simply measuring activity time? 15 Feedback Important to provide feedback to students regarding what they are doing well and/or may need to improve. This is one of the most challenging things you will learn! Types of feedback: general (+-), specific (+-)and corrective As a student teacher, you will analyze feedback and will be responsible for it in each PE pedagogy class Example - What might you say to this student?
