3 At Eagle Ridge we will be conducting an election for the following positions on the Student Council Association: - two 6th grade representatives - two 7th grade representatives one 8th grade vice-president one 8th grade president You will vote for the position representing your grade level. Your votes are confidential.

6 Final Native American Assignment:
Part 1: For Part 1, you will be asked to list ONE cultural trait of each Native American tribe. (Ex. The Netsilik hunted seal) Part 2: For Part 2, you will write a 1 paragraph essay answering the following question: How did Native Americans use their environment to meet their basic needs?

7 Paragraph Parts: Thesis Statement: A thesis statement is your main argument. In your thesis, you should answer the question (reword it) and have reasons you will use in your paragraph to support your argument. Body Paragraph: The body paragraph should contain the specifics and support your thesis or main argument. Concluding Sentence: In your concluding sentence, restate your main idea or thesis.

8 Title Page (Pages 27 & 28!): Create a title page for our next unit. A title page is like the cover of a book—it should show the reader what the book will be about and spark their interest in the topic. Create a title page about Exploration. Draw pictures, symbols, etc. to demonstrate what YOU know about Exploration. Take your time, be thorough, detailed, and creative.  Include: A Title Pictures/symbols/designs to show what YOU know about American History (anything!)
