Process used to preserve the bodies of the dead Used in Egypt because they believed they would need their bodies for a home for their souls in the afterlife Mummy Embalmed body wrapped in strips of linen Pyramids Built as tombs for the Pharaohs They were built to protect their bodies Many personal items were placed in the pyramids Built by slaves and farmers
