Think, Pair, Share Thinking back to the beginning of the book, how do you think Camilla felt when her classmates laughed at her? Think about it by yourself for a minute, and when you and the person next to you are ready, I’d like you to pair up and share your ideas before we discuss as a class.

5 How do you think Camilla felt when her classmates were laughing at her?
*I will record the students ideas* ASK: examples from the text, why you believe she felt that way

6 What do respectful and disrespectful behaviors look like?
Think, Pair, Share There are a lot respectful and disrespectful behaviors toward Camilla throughout this story. Think individually about some of those behaviors, then pair up with the person next to you and share your ideas. Be prepared to defend your answer when we discuss as a class.

7 Respectful Disrespectful
*ask for volunteers* ASK: where can we see that behavior in the story? What makes that behavior respectful or disrespectful?

8 What do you think the moral, or message, of the story is?
In your readers response journal, write your answer in paragraph form. Give evidence/ examples from the text. The moral of a story is the message the author is trying to make, or the lesson they want the reader to learn from the story. In your readers response journal, write what you think the moral of the story is, and try to give examples from the text to support your answer.
