5 Prior To The Day Teams will be displayed on Google Classroom and on the digital displays from Monday 9th July. House Captains will ensure all students are aware of the events they are involved in. No changes are to be made to the team sheets without clearance from PE staff. 1500m, Javelin, Shot & Discus events will take place on Monday 9th July and on the school field. If you are a named athlete or reserve for these events then you are required to arrive at the PE department at the beginning of the designated lesson with full PE kit. Monday Period 2 – Year 10 ( am) Period 3 – Year 7 (11.15 am pm) Period 4b – Year 8 ( pm) Period 5 – Year 9 (2.00pm-3.00pm)

6 Travelling To Sports Day
The scholars buses will still run as normal. It would be a good idea to get off the scholars bus close to Monkton Stadium (see your planner for bus routes) in the morning. The number 27 Go North East public bus also runs near Monkton Stadium. Fellgate Metro station is also just a short walk from the stadium. The car park at Monkton will be busy before 9.00am as the primary school next to the stadium will be starting their day. If parents are dropping you off then please try and do so after this time. Travelling to and from Monkton Stadium by bicycle will NOT be permitted on this day.

7 Morning Registration Register by 9.15 am.
Tables will be placed on the track (one for each house) Find your house and register your attendance. Sit in your house area in the stand. STAND TRACK A B C D

8 AFTERNOON REGISTRATION & DISMISSAL
Registration will take place on the track in ‘fire drill’ fashion! You will move from the seating area to meet your tutor in house group order – Aidan to Dunstan Y7 to Y10. A member of staff will inform you when you are to move. Once registered your tutors will dismiss you. If you are making your own way home then tutors will allow you to go. Aidan & Bede will be asked to leave the Monkton site from the gate nearest the finish line. Years Cuthbert and Dunstan will be asked to leave the Monkton site from the gate nearest the 100m start line. If your parents arriving to collect you, they must enter through the gate nearest the start line. They then must see your tutor before being allowed to take you home. All students returning to school via the minibus will need to register with their tutor first and then when instructed they must meet at the announcers box.

10 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
You will need a packed lunch for the day. If you have free school meals you will need to order a lunch from the kitchen staff. Bins and black bags will be available on the day, please use these to help keep the stadium tidy. Please remain seated whilst the events take place. Standing in front of the barriers means that views are blocked and people miss out on the action of the day! Make sure you are prepared for all weathers, bringing sun cream and/or waterproofs. ALL students will wear sports kit, even if not participating. You may wear a plain t-shirt that matches your house colours. If you do not have a such a T shirt, please wear your normal PE shirt. Bibs can be provided for track events. You are required to wear your PE shorts and NOT tracksuit bottoms during events. REMEMBER if you volunteered for your event and …... EVERY POINT COUNTS!!!

11 Gentle Reminders

12 You need a packed lunch. Those students that have free school meals need to order their lunch from the kitchen staff prior to Sports day. Prepare for good weather. Wear sunscreen to protect your skin. Prepare for bad weather. Wear additional clothing in wet or cold conditions. A waterproof jacket is a must if it looks like rain.

13 No bicycles are to be brought to Monkton Stadium
No bicycles are to be brought to Monkton Stadium. We have nowhere to store them and we can not ensure they are safe from potential theft. No strappy tops or football related clothing should be worn to Sports Day. You can bring a plain T Shirt that shows your house colours. If this is not possible please bring your normal navy/ sky blue PE shirt.

14 No face paint to be brought/worn to Sports day.
No mobile or electronic devices to be seen or used whilst at Sport Day. Normal school rules relating to phones/tablets apply. If you are spotted using a mobile phone/tablet by a member of staff it will be confiscated.
