6 State of the School School Goals for the 2017-2018 School Year
To develop and foster our Catholic identity. To improve communication to all of our stakeholders. To develop skills for classroom teachers in the area of data driven instruction. To utilize best practices in curriculum design and implementation

7 State of the School Curriculum
We will be implementing new Math and ELA curriculum this year. Using EnVision and Pearson Math and supplementing with Engage New York – an OER (Open Educational Resource). Leveling of math in 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th: Course 1 Course 2 Pre-Algebra Algebra Considerations: Math Diagnostic test, Previous math performance, teacher recommendation, math MAP scores.

Implementing a new SIS (Student Information System) Received a test and an with log in information today Capabilities of System: Check you Child’s grades See calendar of assignments in your child's class/classes School directory – must opt in Access school forms Update personal information for your family View Report Cards and Progress Reports online One stop communication with teacher Just the beginning . . .

9 State of the School TOOLBOX
TOOLBOX™ is a Kindergarten through 6th grade program that supports children in understanding and managing their own emotional, social, and academic success. The foundation of TOOLBOX is 12 human capacities that reside within all of us. Through its simple and profound metaphor of Tools, TOOLBOX brings forward a set of skills and practices that help students access their own inner resilience at any time, in any context.

Breathing Tool – I calm myself and check in Quiet/Safe Place Tool – I remember my quiet/safe place Listening Tool – I listen with my ears, eyes, and heart Empathy Tool – I care for others. I care for myself Personal Space Tool – I have a right to my space and so do you Using Our Words Tool – I use the “right’ words in the “right” way Garbage Can Tool – I let the little things go Taking Time Tool – I take time-in and time-away Please and Thank you Tool – I treat others with kindness and appreciation Apology & Forgiveness Tool – I admit my mistakes and work to forgive yours Patience Tool – I am strong enough to wait Courage Tool – I have the courage to do the “right” thing

11 Enrichment Opportunities
Accelerated math program – formerly EPGY MOSS Camp for 5th and 6th grade students– Week of October 16th 8th grade retreat to Cottonwood Monetary Various class field trips After School programs Rembrandt's Art – one day a week (table upstairs) Spanish classes – two days a week After School opportunities through ASAP – After School Activities Program

12 ALL volunteers are required to take the SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING!
12 Volunteer – Building Resilience, Self Mastery & Empathy for Others 20 Volunteer Hours Required by all families Opportunities to volunteer: PTO-sponsored events, Parish activities, In the classroom (ask your child’s teacher), Field trips, Library assistance, Recess and Lunch duty, After-School Activities Program ALL volunteers are required to take the SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING! Includes training class + background check; update every year online Opportunities to attend are limited so RSVP and attend ASAP! Required before volunteering in classroom, on field trips, at events Safe Environment Training offered here on September 13th at 6:00

13 12 Volunteer – Building Resilience, Self Mastery & Empathy for Others
Major Fundraisers St. Mary’s Ball and Auction – October 14th Christmas/Holiday Market Of the 20 volunteer hours required, families need to volunteer either 5 hours of time or donate an item/money worth $75 to the auction.
