Some nouns name a special person, place, thing, or animal. These nouns are called proper nouns, and they begin with a capital letter. Tennessee Sam New York City

People often have special titles that show respect for who they are or for the work they do. When a person’s special title is written with their name, use a capital letter at the beginning of the special title. Let’s look at some special titles. Practice Test Circle the two nouns in each sentence: The bees fly to their hive. The beekeeper gets the honey. A family lives together in a home. We took the baby to the park. The farmer has a horse.

15 Unit 2, Week 6 Review for Dividing Words Learning to divide words will help students become better readers. When they learn to do this, they can separate big words into smaller parts so that they can read them easily. We call this “chunking up” words. Students will have to be able to do this for the reading test on Friday.
