Teams provide financial commitment for education of all players: All education costs paid for by OHL team WHILE playing in the OHL Every OHL player receives a scholarship from their respective team upon graduating from the OHL Scholarships may be utilized for university, college, trade or technical schools anywhere in the world Minimum of tuition, books and compulsory fees Only upon signing a NHL contract should your scholarship become null and void Centrally administered Scholarship Program OHL graduates, 57 different academic institutions, payment of $2.53 (2014/15 season), over $12M since 2008. Player Development 95 of the 211 players selected in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft came from the CHL In seven of the last nine years, the first overall selection in the NHL Draft has come from the OHL. The OHL produced seven 1st round draft picks in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft = 1st in the world. Over the past Five years, there have been 47 OHL Players selected in the first round of the NHL Draft = 1st in the world. Since 1969, the OHL has had 2,229 players selected to the NHL = 1st in the world. On October 8, 2014 (start of NHL regular season) 197 or 25% of NHL Rosters were players developed by the OHL = #1 development League in the World.
