Media law is law that regulates media production and use. Media law can encompass many different types of media including broadcast television, internet and print media.

4. Media Law is a fast developing and increasingly high profile area of law. It deals with issues relating to freedom of expression and the right to communicate, and the way these rights intersect with competing interests.

(1) Liability for media content – for example, when can the press publish facts about a person’s private life? Do public figures have weaker rights to reputation? Will media coverage prejudice a jury trial?
