4 Pre-Award Services  Pre-Award Center Model – Service Oriented Approach – Staff Dedicated to Specific College Units – Focused Expert Support  Five Center Locations 1.Discovery Park (DP) 2.College of Engineering (COE) 3.College of Science, College of Pharmacy, and College of Health and Human Sciences (COS/COP/CHHS) 4.College of Agriculture and College of Veterinary Sciences (Ag/Vet) 5.Central (CPC)

5  Services Provided by Pre-Award – Review sponsor guidelines and identify key issues – Assist with sponsor forms and electronic submission systems – Prepare the budget and review budget justification – Secure all necessary subcontract documentation – Assist with cost share documents and approvals – Institutional Approval – Ensure compliance with FCOI policies Pre-Award Services

6  Services Provided by Pre-Award ̶Prepare Current & Pending reports for investigator approval ̶Assure the proposal meets all sponsor guidelines and is in final form ̶Obtain/Provide all appropriate approvals ̶Assist with sponsor requests for re-budgets, Just in Time information, etc.

8 Contract Management ̶Industrial sponsors require an agreement (contract) ̶Agreements are legally binding documents and require a more extensive review ̶Negotiations may take additional time to reach agreement on the terns of the award ̶Contract Management negotiates to ensure that the University’s and researcher’s interests are protected
