3 What is a Research Paper?
A research is actually a piece of WORK IN YOUR OWN WORDS that fully discusses a topic that you have spent time learning about. It is to be in depth and intelligent, with support from credible sources. This paper will be YOUR work, but you have based your knowledge on the credible work of others.

Rearranging facts Combining a paragraph from an encyclopedia with a couple of paragraphs from websites. That's plagiarism.

6 Defining and planning your task
Needed requirement before starting Read the assignment and identify the research question. Identify assessment criteria. Underline due dates. Sources needed.

7 Things to consider when choosing a topic
1. picking a topic of interest 2. deciding what you know and do not know about this topic 3. Choose a subject for which a wide range of source material is available. 4. determining if the topic is too narrow (no research) or too broad (too much research).

8 After you have chosen a general topic, you must narrow it so that it becomes more specific and easier to research.

*Organize, analyze, synthesize, sort and digest the information gathered to effectively communicate your thoughts, and ideas. Make sure your research has a clear introduction, body and conclusion *Include only relevant and understandable information. Make sure you have used your own words and has been carefully noted. *(Document “write a bibliography “)all ideas borrowed or quotes used to avoid plagiarism. write down the bibliography at the end
