(1) The wind and the sun argued one day over which one was stronger. (2) Spotting a man traveling on the road, they challenged each other to see which one could remove the coat from the man's back quicker.
(3) The wind began by blowing air so strong that the man could barely walk against it. (4) The man clutched his coat tight against him. (5) Then, the wind began blowing harder and longer than before. (6) The harder the wind blew, the tighter the man held his coat against him. (7) The wind blew until it was tired, but it could not remove the coat from the man's back.
(8) The sun then took its turn. (9) Its beams found the traveler and shined upon his head and back, and the man became so warm that he took off his coat and headed for the nearest shade tree.
