2 Urbane – refined in manner or style, suave, classy
​People who live in urban cities are usually urbane in their mannerisms. 

3 Cogent – relevant; to the point, convincing
My parents told me to bring up a cogent argument to allow me to get a puppy 

4 Expunge – to erase, obliterate, destroy
​My brother arrest when he was in high school was expunge when he turned 18 Sponge cleans up things  

5 Omniscient – knowing everything
​Omni means all  3rd person omniscient narrators know everything that is going on in the plot. 

6 Panacea – a remedy for all ills; a cure-all
Pangaea is when everything was connected, all.   ​Many experts believe that education can be a panacea for all problems My tutor for math and science was my panacea for my high school problems. 

7 Diffident – shy, lacking self- confidence
​The diffident student refused to present his project to the class 

8 Pungent – causing a sharp sensation; stinging, strong smell
​When I walked into the restaurant the pungent aroma caused my eyes to water

9 Temerity – rashness; boldness
​The students temerity got him 3 days ISS when he refused to take his hat off after the teacher asked him. 

10 Truculent – fierce and cruel; aggressive; deadly
​When my dog attacked the puppy he was accused of being truculent and had to wear a mussel. 

11 Unfeigned – sincere, real, without pretense
​Mrs. Linde's feelings throughout the play was very unfeigned, especially when she was talking to Krogstad.  John's apology was unfeigned when he heard he broke my nose.  ​
