3. Graduation is ALMOST HERE!!!

The things you need to know that you probably haven’t thought about!

4. Cap and Gown Information
All paid in full cap and gown orders will be delivered on April 24th during POWER.
Be sure that your senior tries it on and sees that it fits and that you have everything you need…now is the time to try it…don’t wait!

5. Senior Tribunal April 23rd
Teachers will meet to discuss graduation plans for all seniors. If your senior is in danger of not passing classes due to academic or attendance issues, they will be notified and a plan will be put in place.
For some, they may be given alternate graduation plans which may include not walking in the graduation ceremony.
If placed under a teacher contract, the senior will be required to complete POWER tutorials

6. Credit Recovery and Online Classes
March 28th – All Credit Recovery MUST BE complete
May 25th – All online class work is due
SOJO Academy –May 30th – Jun 1st
Seniors who are in jeopardy (each situation is looked at individually)

7. Senior Trip April 27th Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Students must be at SJHS by 5:45AM
Return by 10:30PM

8. Senior Walk May 8th

9. Underclassmen Awards Friday, May 18th @8:00 am
Seniors will be called to Auditorium
2 walking lines—first “practice” for graduation
Seniors will enter gymnasium as a class and sit in chairs on the gym floor.
Senior may be recognized at this ceremony.
WorkKeys Cords will be given out during this ceremony

10. Senior Group Picture May 18th @10:00 am
Meet in the Cafeteria at 10 w Cap and Gown
Group picture -- $20
Students are sent to 3rd block after picture. After 3rd block, seniors are allowed to leave or join the picnic.

11. SENIOR PICNIC MAY 18th 11:30AM – 2 PM
Water Slide, Corn Hole Tournament, and Music Hamburgers and Hotdogs, Ice Cream, Drinks/Chips
T-Shirts –Dr. Pearce’s gift to your senior!

12. Senior Awards Night Wednesday, May 23rd @ 7pm
Seniors Arrive 6:30—Cafeteria—Nice attire (church)
Invitations—for those who are being honored or recognized in some manner.
Top Five Class Rank Announced
All Scholarship Winners Announced
Honors/High Honors
Honors = Cord
High Honors = Cord and Tassel
Replaces the tassel in their cap/gown unit; if want to keep both tassels they pay $10

13. Senior Night of Champions May 22nd @ 6:30 PM

All senior athletes and families
All senior athletic awards presented
Coach Massengill will advertise to all senior athletes

14. Baccalaureate Sunday June 3rd @ 3PM
Motivational celebration of graduates sponsored by FCA and the Community of Churches in the area

16. Graduation Ticket Distribution
Tickets distributed after practice
EVERY guest must have a ticket to enter

5 Special Admission (Old Gym/Ceremony)
Up to 3 additional General Admission (cafeteria/auditorium--just like you would be watching at home)

17. Graduation Ceremony Friday, June 8th @ 6pm
5PM New Gym (dressed)-- DO NOT BE LATE!
Crowd Control – Please remind parents of this! LIMITED PARKING
Attire – Boys wear dark pants and dark shoes…no shorts; Girls wear dark shoes
Caps – Paint Pen decorated with school attending; if inappropriate, no walk!
This is a FORMAL CEREMONY and will be conducted as such
Once speaker starts name call no one may dismiss the gym til the end; also anyone outside the gym will not be allowed to reenter.

18. Graduation Ceremony Information
Parking
We can only admit 550 cars on campus
Campus will close at 550 cars NO MATTER
Formality of the Ceremony
Parking Lot opens at 4PM
Gym doors at 4:30PM---Doors close at 5:50PM
Disruptions:
*Student acts inappropriately we will hold their diplomas
*Guest acts inappropriately they will be escorted out and off campus and charged with disorderly conduct.

19. Graduation Ceremony Information
Encourage guests to arrive early…parking and traffic are always an issue.
Ceremony will begin promptly at 6 PM!
Doors close, no one enters until after graduates are at seats
After the ceremony, seniors will report back to the New Gym for diplomas and then may exit for pictures.
