Most common: pseudoplastic…convex curve towards the shear stress axis (Fig. 6.1b) Apparent viscosity will decrease as shear rate increases Dilatant fluids: concave toward shear stress axis (corn flour, wet beach sand: stiffens when walked on..select pumps carefully!)
