5. Regeneration & Repair
Regenerate- to renew or restore a lost or injured part
Repair- to mend or put back in good condition

6. What is Cell Regeneration?
Regeneration- is the process of renewal, restoration, and growth that allows cells to overcome damage
New cells are created where old cells were destroyed

7. Complete vs. Incomplete Regeneration
Complete Regeneration- where the new cell tissue is the same as the lost original cell tissue
Incomplete Regeneration- cells are only partially or are not completely restored to original form

8. What is Cell Repair?
Repairable- able to be fixed or improved, allows cells to recover from injury
Not all cells are repairable, some damage is irreversible

Can you think of any animals that are able to regenerate their body parts?
What body parts are they able to regrow?
