4. (Central) Valley Large areas of flat, low land
Often between mountains or hills
Fertile land, where many fruits and vegetables are grown
Central Valley located in Northern California

5. Desert Much of land is flat and low Very little rainfall
Home to a variety of plants and animals
A majority of animals are nocturnal
Extreme temperatures: very hot on summer days; very cold on winter nights
Death Valley is lowest point in all of the United States
