How to make a Blog An audio and visual tutorial How to make a Blog, A step by step process, brought to you by Eric Snyder.

2 The first step into creating your own blog is to go up the menu on the top left corner of your screen where it says Mail, Calendar, Documents, Photos, Groups, Web and More. Click on the down arrow next to the option of More. When the menu comes up scroll down to Blogger, this is the second option from the top. Click on Blogger, this link will bring you to the home page of Blogger.

3 Once the Blogger home page finishes loading, you will be seeing a screen that lets you log in or create your own blog in 3 easy steps. Move your mouse down to the arrow that says CREATE YOUR BLOG NOW. Click on the arrow and wait until it takes you to the next step.

4 Once you click on the CREATE YOUR BLOG NOW link, it should say Step 1
Once you click on the CREATE YOUR BLOG NOW link, it should say Step 1...Create a Google Account. Scroll down until you see address. This is where you will enter your address unless you would like to use a different account. Once you type in your address scroll down to the Enter a password section. Enter your password that you would like to use for your Blogger account. The password must be at least 8 characters long. Once you finsih typing it in, go down to the next section and retype your password like it says too. Once you complete retyping your password, scroll down to where it says Display Name. Here you will enter the name in which you will use to sign your blogs. This will be the title of your Blog. Once you complete this you are going to want to verify the account. Go to where it has you must type in the Word Verification word. In this case the word is TOLLY. Once you complete typing in the screen, click on the box where it says accept the Terms of Service. You will need to check the box or else you will not able to continue making your Blog. If you would like to read the Terms of Service, click on the link and it will display the Terms of Service for your information.

5 After accepting the Terms of Services, click on the orange arrow at the bottom right part of your screen where it says to CONTINUE.

6 Step 2 is to NAME YOUR BLOG. Scroll down to where it says Blog Title
Step 2 is to NAME YOUR BLOG. Scroll down to where it says Blog Title. Click on the box where it says name of your blog and type in title of your blog. Under the heading of Blog address (URL), type your title in to the box. Check to make sure that the address is available. If it is not you will have to create a new title. Once you complete this step, proceed on by clicking on the orange arrow at the bottom right corner of your screen where it says continue.

7 Continuing with Step 2, this is the point where you will create the layout of your blog. Using the scroll bar on the right side of the screen, scroll through the different layouts and click on the box that you like. Once you select the template that you want to use for your blog, move your mouse down to the Orange arrow at the bottom right of your screen that says continue and click on it to proceed to the next step.

8 Congratulations you have just completed setting up your Blog
Congratulations you have just completed setting up your Blog. You may start posting whenever you like. Click on the Orange arrow at the right side of your screen to start posting.

9 Before you start posting on your Blog, it is recommended that you go through and set all your settings. Move your mouse up to the top left hand corner of your page to where it says POSTING, SETTINGS, TEMPLATE, VIEW BLOG. Click on SETTINGS. The first step you will want to do is make sure your TITLE is the same or if you want to change it you can here. Scroll down to the next box. This is where you can make a description of your Blog. In this case, this is a student at a college and created the blog for a class. Go through the rest of the boxes. Click to change the different options as you wish. You can always go back and change them in the future.

10 When you get to the bottom of the page, Click on the ORANGE button that says SAVE SETTINGS. This button will save your settings that you selected. If you do not wish to make a Blog you may go down and click on the BLUE box that says DELETE THIS BLOG.

11 Once you complete your basic settings, go on to the next option that says Publishing. This link is right underneath the SETTINGS TAB. Right now you are publishing on blogspot.com, if you have your own custom domain please select the link that says Custom Domain. Once your address is correct, scroll down and click on Save Settings. When you are done with this click on the link at the top where it says Formatting.

12 Go through the different options and change them as needed.

13 Once you get to the bottom of your screen, move the mouse down to the ORANGE box where it says Save Settings. Once this is completed go back up to the top of the page and select Comments

14 Again go Scroll down the page and adjust your settings as need be.

15 As like previous, Click on the ORANGE box that says Save Settings when you are done. Once your done go back up to the top of the page and click on Archives.

Go down through the options and change them as need be. Once you are done click on the ORANGE block that says Save Settings. Once everything is saved, go back up to Site Feed and click on that link.

17 Go down through the different Options and change the different options as need be. Once you are completed, click on the ORANGE block at the bottom of the page where it says Save Settings. Go back up to the top of the page and click on the link where it says .

19 This allows you to add other Blog Authors other than you if you wish
This allows you to add other Blog Authors other than you if you wish. You can also adjust who you would like to view your blog. You are now finished adjusting your settings. The Next and last Tab you may want to adjust your settings is TEMPLATE. Click on the TEMPLATE tab at the top left part of your screen.

20 If you would like to edit your title or Blog Post this is where you can do such. You can also add a Page Element if you wish. In the example, the student added fellow classmates’ blogs to his account. Make sure to save your changes by clicking on the ORANGE SAVE block at your top right corner of your page which is next to the BLUE CLEAR EDITS box.

21 Make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the options at the bottom. When you are done saving your changes go up to the links on top left corner of your page and link of the link FONTS AND COLORS.

22 This is the part where you can customize the color scheme of your Blog
This is the part where you can customize the color scheme of your Blog. Make sure to save your changes by clicking on the ORANGE SAVE CHANGES box. When your done go up to the 3 tabs in the left hand corner of your page and click on POSTING.

23 Congraduations. You just completed your tutorial
Congraduations. You just completed your tutorial. You may begin posting, make sure once your done to click on the save now button before you publish your post. Do not forget you can view your blog by clicking on the VIEW BLOG link next to the TEMPLATE TAB.
