- DNA sequences shows organism’s history
- closely related organisms will have similar DNA sequences as well as similar amino acid sequences

9. Patterns of Evolution Coevolution –
= 2 species evolve in response to changes in each other
ex. Plants and animals that pollinate them

10. Convergent Evolution
= organisms appear similar due to environment, but are not closely related
ex. Sharks (fish) & dolphins (mammal)

11. Divergent Evolution
= 2 or more related species become more dissimilar; results from differing habitats

ex. finches
* Artificial selection
ex. dogs
