Currently, I have a first and third grader at FHES. I’ve been the lead teacher/docent for both my kids’ classes for the last two years.

4. Lead teachers
Please review the powerpoint on the FHESPTA.org website – the Grace Art page will have the current artist’s biography sheet, project sheet, and Powerpoint slides and narrative for each slide. Password: GAFHES!
When you arrive at school, you will check in at the office and then you will get the cart from the Grace Art closet. On the cart, there will be a printed copy of the Powerpoint with the talking points for each slide.
Also on the cart, there is a thumb drive that contains all the Grace Art information. You can access the Powerpoint via the thumb drive or on the FHESPTA.org website

5. Assistants to lead teacher
You will assist the lead teacher with the lesson.
While the lead teacher is reviewing the Powerpoint with the class, you will get the supplies ready to hand out. All supplies will be on the cart.

6. November’s project
Self-portrait using pastels or markers (whichever the student prefers).
There will be a sample on the cart.
Emphasize using a lot of color like Frida Kahlo used.
There is a sheet on how to explain the project to the students on the cart. That will be very helpful.
If students are struggling with drawing their face, a template is provided.

Thank you so much for volunteering to be the lead teacher and/or docent for your child’s class.
The GRACE ART curriculum makes it very easy to present. The Powerpoint slides each have one, two, or three talking points that make it easy to present and easy to interact with the students.
Please don’t be afraid to step up and teach the lesson. You can read right off of the Powerpoint sheets that are printed out on the cart.
I will be there 30 minutes before each lesson, so I can help with any questions you have on the day of the presentation.
