2. Momentum Exception (8-5-2a)
Applies to any defending possession
non-grounded forward pass, fumble, backward pass, scrimmage kick or free kick
Occurs inside 5-yard line & the ball is declared dead in defenders end zone
MUST have bean bag down
Rarely occurs that a 2nd momentum situation would occur during same down
If occurs, it would be some 90-yards away from 1st momentum occurrence

3. Under Momentum If runner leaves end zone, momentum spot is erased
What if:
Runner is tackled in end zone, ball is placed?
Runner fumbles and A/K recovers?
Runner fumbles out of end zone, ball is placed?
Runner fumbles into field of play and out of bounds, ball is placed?
If runner is tackled in end zone, ball is placed at momentum spot
If runner fumbles and A/K recovers, TD
If runner fumbles out of end zone, ball is placed at momentum spot (bean bag).
If runner leaves end zone, momentum spot is erased
If runner fumbles into field of play and out of bounds, ball placed at momentum spot
