2 UMass Pass is the official UMass Dartmouth identification card—the one card you'll need to carry on campus. Everyone is required to have one (1) valid UMass Pass ID card. If your card is lost/stolen you must pay $30.00 for a replacement. Please note: If your card is tampered with or scratched (i.e. hole punches, bent or broke in half, taped, heavy gashes or slashes) these physical marks will be the determining factor as to why it does not swipe -you will be required to pay for a new card. If you lose your most recent UMass Pass ID, you are not able to reactivate any old UMass Pass IDs you may have found or kept. You can add money onto your account, report your ID lost or stolen, and view your transactions on line at drg 1/12/2019

6 Trouble shooting access:
When a card holder experience issues accessing his/her building the following steps need to be taken... Determine if the issue is: Hardware = the physical door/ mechanism is denying access. A key indicator is when the door is not allowing access to any cardholder Solution = Call Facilities at extension 8100 to report the location. Software = regardless of the light indicators on the mechanism the swipe still does not grant access Solutions = report the location and cardholder’s number Card/Mag stripe = card is scraped, broken , cracked and/ or hole punched Solution = Go to the Campus Service Center ask for Grace who will in turn investigate the problem and deem the card “damaged or worn”. NOTE: if a card is deemed damaged a $30.00 fee will be accessed and payment will be required in order of a new card to be issued drg 1/12/2019

7 Refund requests: UMass Dartmouth students that have funds remaining in either a UMD Dollars and/ or Food Account* may request a refund. The request needs to come via to A mailing address must be provided in your in order for a check to be sent. Refunds will only take place once the accounts are deemed eligible for refund and your Bursar account has a zero balance. At that point we will look to see if you have been officially marked as withdrawn, graduated or transferred from the Registrar’s Office. Please allow 7 business days for the refund to be processed. *Remaining funds less then $10.00 will not be refunded. Declining Balance and Block Plans will not be refunded. drg 1/12/2019

9 University Parking Regulations
UMass Dartmouth is a permit campus, all students are required to register their vehicle and obtain a decal for each academic year. Decals are to be placed on the lower left hand of windshield corner in front of the driver. Decals are color coded to specific areas, residential students are allowed to park in residential areas only, not including ring road or in front of respective buildings at anytime. drg 1/12/2019

10 Parking Lots Your decal permits you to park in your assigned Lots only Residents are NOT allowed to park on Ring Rd unless it is outside of Lots 13A & 14A only there can Cedar Dell & Woodland Residents park. Lots 1 and 17 are faculty and staff ONLY until 3 pm. All overnight guest will be instructed to park in lot 7A. drg 1/12/2019

11 Parking Decals & Permits
Cost of decals are $ for Resident and $ for Commuter Students who have a decal and have a need to bring an alternate vehicle to campus. Bring their UMass ID and the make, model year state and plate number of vehicle they will be bringing to campus. Students who do not have a valid UMass decal must pay for a temp tag and park in the lot which is designated by the Parking Office. The fee for students without a decal is $5.00 for a Day Pass or $25.00 for a Week Pass. 31 Day bus passes may be purchased at the Parking Office the fee is $28.00 (cash only) Students who have guest must come to the Parking Office with the make, model, year, and registration (plate number) of guest vehicle. A temp guest pass will be issued… It must be either hang from the rear view mirror Or lay on the dashboard of the vehicle (depending on the type of temp pass). drg 1/12/2019

13 Parking Ticket Regulations:
If you are issued a parking ticket, the ticket must be paid or appealed within 21 days to avoid additional penalties. Our system is connected to the RMV There are four ways to pay a parking ticket: in person at the parking office online at parkingticketpayment.com/umdartmouth by phone at (online and by phone charge an additional $2.95 processing fee) by mail: Mail payment to Parking Services, 285 Old Westport Road, North Dartmouth, MA 02747 If you wish to appeal the ticket, go to parkingticketpayment.com/umdartmouth within 21 days After 21 days any unpaid ticket, will accrue a $5.00 UMD fee. Because our system is connected to the registry, after an additional 30 days from date of issue, the RMV adds an additional $20.00 fee. After the RMV adds their late fee, the registered owner of the vehicle will not be able to register their car or renew their license until the ticket is paid in full drg 1/12/2019

15 Mission Transportation Services is tasked with providing safe and reliable transportation to members of the campus community. Day time shuttle services operate on set routes that are designed to facilitate the movement of students between living areas and academic buildings. Evening shuttle services operate on set routes designed to provide a safe means of travel between all main points on campus. Transportation services for disabled or injured students is available via a wheelchair capable van during operational hours. NOTE: Individuals needing such services must contact the Transportation office to make these specific arrangements. drg 1/12/2019

In addition to standard on-campus routes the transportation services office provides key off campus services and works with other service providers to ensure that the transportation needs of the university are met. The Transportation Services Office provides a variety of services with its own fleet of Corsair Shuttles. 17 On Campus Services Regular On-Campus Transportation is provided from
7:30a.m. to 12:00a.m. Monday – Wednesday 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Thursday – Saturday* 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Saturday* – Sunday* 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday* *Sat & Sun. Services are provided on set routes around campus. Detailed route maps can be found online at umassd.edu/transportation. Handicap-accessible transportation is provided by a wheelchair accessible van and is offered during all operational hours. Students should the transportation office to setup a pickup/dropoff schedule for this service. Should the service be needed last minute a student may call the transportation office and the shuttle will be dispatched as soon as it is available. drg 1/12/2019

18 Off Campus Services The Retail Loop provides transportation between main points on campus and local retail location in Dartmouth including the Dartmouth Mall. Detailed route maps showing all stops can be found online at umassd.edu/transportation The Law School Route provides regular transportation between the main campus and the school of law. Detailed times are available online at umassd.edu/transportation Shuttles can be reserved for Special Events by university groups. Shuttles are available for on-campus, regional and long distance trips dependent upon availability of staff and vehicles. 19 External Transportation Partners
SRTA: The Southeastern Regional Transit Authority provides regular transportation between New Bedford and Fall River with connecting stops at the UMass Dartmouth Campus Center. Detailed routes are available online at srtabus.com LOOP: New Bedford Harbor Commission LOOP Services provides transportation between the UMass Dartmouth Campus Center and the Star Store in New Bedford. Stop times can be found online at umassd.edu/transportation DATTCO: The DATTCO Bus Plus Program provides transportation from the University to Boston (South Station) & returns to the University. Zipcar: The University has partnered with Zipcar to maintain several Zipcars on-campus and offer special rates to students. Students must apply for this service directly through Zipcar which can be done at Charter Services: The University has a contract with Tremblay’s Bus Co. to provide charter services to university groups when needed. 21 Important Policies The safety of all students and transportation staff is the top priority Transportation Services reserves the right to deny service to any student who becomes disruptive or fails to follow the posted ridership rules All drivers are in direct contact with The UMass Dartmouth Police Department and will request an officer should the need arise. 22 Safe Driver System with Cameras
All University shuttles are equipped with a safe driver system which includes the use of interior and exterior video recording devices. These devices record activity on and outside of all shuttles. All recordings will be provided to the UMass Dartmouth Police Department and Judicial Affairs upon request. Should any passenger become disruptive to the safe operation of shuttle operations, the incident will be logged and referred to Judicial Affairs including any applicable video footage. drg 1/12/2019

Each student receives a personal mailbox number and a combination or mailbox key from their Resident Director upon moving in. It is important to take safety measures with regard to your mailbox. Report broken mailboxes, lost keys, missing or tampered mail immediately to the Housing and Residential Life Office. * * The Student Mail Room is strictly a delivery service. Any issues concerning mailboxes, mailbox keys, and mailbox combinations must be brought to the attention of the Resident Director in the respective dorm and/or the Housing and Residential Life Office. 1/12/2019 drg

Hours of Operation Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00 * Intersession hours are Monday – Friday, 10:00 – 2:00 Incoming packages Package arrival notification: Students will be notified using their university account when packages or other items too large for the mailbox arrive. Package pick-up: Students must show their university ID for identity verification to pick up packages. * A second notification “reminder” will be sent to any resident that has not picked up within 10 business days. * Any packages that have not been claimed within 1 month of it’s arrival date will be returned to sender to ensure timely pick-up and to create the necessary space for student packages arriving daily. * Costs incurred to return packages will be charged to the sender. Students will be responsible for any charges that cannot be billed to the sender. A hold will be placed on the student's university account until the balance due is paid in full. drg 1/12/2019

29 Outgoing mail Packages and express mail: Prepaid shipping labels or postage is required before any arrangements can be made. Once the package has proper postage or a return pick-up call has been placed through UPS, FedEx, or DHL it can be dropped off at the Student Package Center for carrier pick-up. * Please Note * The drop off for packages that are being sent out through U.S. Postal Service must be brought to the Student Mail Room.   Helpful tips for parents and students * The University Mail Room picks up mail / packages twice daily from the U.S. Post Office * The U.S. Postal Service does not deliver to the campus. * DO NOT send cash in the mail. * Anything of value should be sent registered or certified. This applies to both letters and parcels. USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and others provide routine tracking methods and insurance for their shipments. * Purchase insurance when shipping valuables so that you are protected against loss or damage. * Medications should be phoned in to a local pharmacy. If you must send medication, send it registered or certified. * Time-sensitive material should be sent well in advance and by land or air carriers using guaranteed overnight or similar timeframes. 1/12/2019 drg
