Prerequisites
Use USB thumb drive with a minimum capacity of 8GB. (Note: All files will be erased from the thumb drive.)
Download ISO image file from (Remember the download location.)
Download TAUSBMaker.exe
Use a USB 3.0 port, if possible.

3. Download Windows 10 Image
Download ISO image file to a PC hard drive from

4. Download Windows 10 Image
Build-in Windows FTP client will open, requesting ID and password. ID is “erodc8879”. Password is TY2018 IRS Windows volunteer user password:

5. Download Windows 10 Image
Select Windows 10 folder, then, GWX_15Nov18.iso:
Go get a cup of coffee while the download progresses!

6. Download support files from FTP site
Next, click on “[parent directory]” to return to the FTP site’s parent directory…

7. Download Verify Checksum program

Verify Image
Locate files in download folder.
Double click Verify Checksum.exe
Press Select File button and locate GWX_15Nov18.iso:

Double click Verify Checksum.exe
Press Select File button and locate GWX_15Nov18.iso:
Click “Calculate”

Start TAUSBMaker
Insert one or more USB thumb drives, preferably into USB 3.0 slots
Double click on TAUSBMaker.exe in File Explorer
If Windows Defender SmartScreen appears, click “More info” link:

12. Authorize Program Execution
Click on “Run anyway” button:

Select “advanced mode”
Press the Next button

Select ISO Image File
Find the ISO image file on your PC (typically in “Downloads” folder
Press the “Change ISO file” to point to the file location

Double click on the ISO file (or select it then press the Open button)

16. Select USB Thumb Drive(s) to Format
In this example, four thumb drives are attached to the system and all have been selected. Press “Next”

17. Start Imaging Operation
Press the “Start” button
Press “OK when asked if you are sure you want to erase all the date on the removable USB thumb drive.
