2 Viewing Guide We will now look at and analyze a Political Cartoon and a Video. Put your name on your paper and get ready.

4 What do we already know? The Constitution was ratified (passed into law) with out a Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was added after the fact as a change to the original Constitution. Even thought the Bill of Rights is technically the first ten amendments to the Constitution they were all passed as a package deal. Since the Bill of Rights was passed in 1789 there have been 17 additional Amendments or CHANGES to the Constitution.

5 Who was left out? As we all know the world was not exactly a fair and equal place in 1791. Make a quick list of the types of people you think were “left out” when the rights in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights were being created.

6 There are TWO ways that the US Constitution can be Amended.
Article V of the Constitution explains the ways in which it can be Amended. There are TWO ways that the US Constitution can be Amended. Let’s look at each closely.
