God uses it to keep David away when Saul dies

Through direct guidance
The priest and the ephod

6. David protects God’s people
God Prepares a King
David protects God’s people
Dishonestly
Honestly
Even though they blamed him!
David seeks God’s guidance
David shows God’s wisdom

7. Numbers 31:25-27 “The LORD said to Moses, ‘Take the count of the plunder that was taken, both of man and of beast, you and Eleazar the priest and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the congregation, and divide the plunder into two parts between the warriors who went out to battle and all the congregation.’”
What does this passage teach us? We should be like David certainly. Seek God’s guidance. Display his wisdom. Help God’s people. But on communion Sunday, I want to focus on God’s care of us!
